John W. “Jack” Laret, Sr. was born and raised in Hollidaysburg. After graduating from Hollidaysburg High, Jack enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was awarded a Certificate of Distinguished Service. Jack was honorably discharged in 1969.
After completing his military service, Jack returned to Hollidaysburg and began working as an apprentice sign maker. In 1974, Jack went into business on his own manufacturing, installing, and servicing signs.
Over the course of the last 45 years, Jack has fabricated and installed signs of the highest quality for hundreds of customers, large and small. A few of the many customers that Jack has served include Hoss’s, First National Bank, Lamar, the Altoona Convention Center, and most recently, Rutter’s.
Jack has been a fixture in the local golf community for 40 years. He also is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys travel. Most importantly, Jack treasures his family and the many personal and professional relationships built over a lifetime.
Committed to expanding his work throughout Central Pennsylvania and beyond, the business has now been constituted Laret Sign Works, LLC. Jack and his crew look forward to serving the community for many years to come.
